Excellent Trains Wiki is a wiki and former reception wiki on Miraheze (and previously Fandom) about train-related and other random things. It was the sister wiki to Inferior Trains Wiki, until Excellent Trains Wiki no longer became a reception wiki.
History[edit | edit source]
Reception wiki era (2020–2023)[edit | edit source]
The wiki was first created on Fandom on October 13, 2020 as the sister wiki to Inferior Trains Wiki. On December 2, 2020, a fork of Excellent Trains Wiki was created at Miraheze by 111222333alex.[1] In early 2021, the Fandom wiki was closed down due to inactivity.
In February 2021, another fork of the wiki was created at Wikidot.
From late 2021 to mid-2023, the Miraheze wiki was closed and reopened various times, most notably on January 18, 2022, January 27, 2023, and June 16, 2023.
Post-reception wiki era (2023–present)[edit | edit source]
Around October 2023, the wiki distanced itself from being a reception wiki, and instead pages were created on random things, such as a list of school bus operators in New York City and railroad stations in the United States, mainly in the Northeast.[2] As a result, the wiki no longer became the sister wiki to Inferior Trains Wiki.
In August 2024, the Trains and More Wiki was unveiled as a replacement for Excellent Trains Wiki. In September 2024, the articles on bus companies were moved to the newly-created Buses in New York City Wiki. It is planned to move the BSicon maps to the EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki. There were initial plans to move the reception articles to the Wikidot version of Excellent Trains Wiki, but instead it has been decided to move the reception articles to the Wikidot version of Inferior Trains Wiki.
